Wizard of Oz Bookclub

This is the first year that I'm doing a bookclub for my daughter and her friends.  I started one for my son when he was in the 4th grade and it's still going.  Claire is in the 4th grade this year so now it's her turn.  Our second book this year was the Wizard of Oz.  Since we did it in October we had a dress up party for book club complete with Wizard of Oz themed snacks.

The yellow brick road made out of cookies.  It led to the Emerald City where everything was green including the cookies and the chips!

The kids came dressed up.  The most creative was one of the boys who came as the Wicked Witch of the East...complete with the house that fell on her!

 



I'm having a lot of fun with this bookclub.  Each month the kids read a classic book and then we watch the movie and compare them.  It's been a lot of fun and the kids are getting really good at filling in Venn Diagrams!
