Postcard Friendship Friday #75

I picked this postcard up in Springfield when we were there a couple weeks ago.

Here are some pics I took of the inside of the house.  It was so beautiful inside and out!
Some of the furnishings, like this desk, actually belonged to the Lincolns.  Others are just period pieces.

Postcard Friendship Friday is hosted by Beth at The Best Hearts are Crunchy.

Thanks to all of you who have sent my daughter postcards from various states!  She's been excited to get all that mail!  If anyone is new and doesn't know what I'm talking about my daughter is collecting postcards from all 50 states.  If you'd like to send her one and get a Texas on in return just email me and I'll send you the address.  My email is aimeesland@sbcglobal.net

I love combining my photos and postcards to remember a trip. About Galveston: it's changed a lot since Hurricane IKE. Almost all of the wonderful old live oaks that lined the streets are gone. Nothing there to give you a hug! So sad.

I like Lincoln's placing of the desk, against a corner so not to be distracted but a window on each side to gaze while thinking for the next lines of his speeches.

I love seeing around historical houses, especially when they are furnished so that you can truly imagine what it must have been like.

Looks like a fun trip! Let me know if your daughter needs a postcard from New York or Oklahoma (I'll be in OK in July).

Wow, what a beautiful house! I can only imagine what the household was like during their time.

P.S. Let me know if you need a postcard from Asia. I'd be happy to send you one or two :)

I can send a card from Ontario, Canada if she decides to collect Canada, and my sister will send one from Alberta.
