L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

Home is where you start from hosts a weekly photo challenge.
This weeks theme is "the view from here".

My entry is this shot from the Wapatki National Monument near Flagstaff AZ.

I took this picture from inside the pueblo so this would have been the view from their window!

We had so many great pictures from our Arizona trip that it was hard to pick just one!

If you want to see the other entries or join in visit Jenn at http://www.homeiswhereyoustartfrom.com/

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The L.E.N.S. photo challenge is hosted by Jen at Home is where you start from.
This week's theme is Dreamy Black and White.

This is a picture from our recent vacation to Hannibal, MO. It was taken at the Mark Twain museum. When my husband saw it on the preview screen of the camera he commented that it would look good in black and white. So, when I saw this week's them I had to try it. He was right...it does look good in black and white!

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The L.E.N.S. Photo Challege is hosted by Home is Where you Start From.

This week's theme is "Remember"

I remember this little boy with a love of baseball. I remember him learning to hit, learning to catch, and learning to pitch. And to this day this is still the same little boy I see every time he steps up to the plate.

But for some reason, every time I get home and look at the pictures he looks like this:

Funny how a mother's memory works. Sometimes it just takes over, I guess. :)

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge: Spring peeps

It's time for another L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge hosted by Home is where you start from. This week's theme is Spring. Well, what says spring better than Peeps? You know those tasty little marshmallow rabbits and chicks that come around each year! Each Spring our Newspaper hosts a Peeps diorama contest. Claire and I entered one last year...just a basic little shoebox diorama. Some people really go all out though so we tried something a little more creative this year. Peeping Beauty...

The above picture is my entry into the L.E.N.S. photo challenge, but I thought since we worked so hard on the details I'd show some close up pictures too. :)

Here is Peeping Beauty and her Prince. See the little pillow claire made her? And notice her bed is made from Peeps bunnies!

And you couldn't have Peeping Beauty without those magical little fairies, now could you?

I actually had Nathan's book club make peeps dioramas too, but I gave them a theme. They had to do it based on a classic piece of literature. They did a great job. In a couple of days I'm actually going to hold a contest on my blog and ask my readers to vote for their favorite. The winner gets a prize pack from me. So, check back here in a couple of days to see theirs and vote. :)

L.E.N.S. Photo challenge: February

The L.E.N.S. photo challenge is hosted by Home is Where you start from. This week's theme is February. My photo is from our February snow. We usually have spring-like weather in December, but when February rolls around here comes the snow!

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge: PE

Home is where you start from hosts the L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge every week. This week's theme is Physical Education: what does PE look like at your house?

Well, my son plays baseball and he also has a membership to the gym where he likes to rock climb and play soccer. At home he rides his bike and climbs trees.

My daughter takes gymnastics and also rides her bike and climbs trees. When its warm enough we can swim in the pool.

But when the weather is cold and we are iced in, like we were this week, this is what PE looks like at our house...

GYMNASTICS EVERYWHERE!

She has a meet coming up soon so there are splits, cartwheels, tuck jumps, stradel jumps, you name it, going on at our house every minute of the day! To be quite honest, these things go on whether she has a meet coming up or not. She eats, sleeps, and breathes gymnastics!

Don't forget...my Homemade Gourmet giveaway ends on Super Bowl Sunday. Click here if you haven't entered yet!

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The theme of this week's L.E.N.S. Photo challenge hosted by Home is Where you start From is "Learning spaces".

Now, we have a school room that we do school in on a daily basis, but I think the best place to learn is on the road! My kids always get so much out of field trips. These photos are from our Texas History field trip from a couple years ago. Our final stop was Washington on the Brazos which was a lot of fun, very educational, and had lots of good photo ops!

Yes, we even educate the stuffed animals!

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The fun little challenge is hosted each week by Home is Where you Start From. This week's theme is "perspective".

This is a photo my daughter took this last week at the Botanical Gardens. I didn't know she took it until I saw her photos. I made the comment to her then that I really liked it because its from a different perspective.

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The L.E.N.S. photo challenge is hosted by: Home is Where you start From.

The theme of this week's photo challenge is "Words". We went to the state fair yesterday. Lots of words everywhere! I took this photo. It reminds me of fall. What could be better than carnivals, cool weather, and cotton candy?
(I cropped it a little to put more focus on the words.)

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The L.E.N.S. Photo challenge is hosted each week by Hen Jen at http://www.homeiswhereyoustartfrom.com/

This week's challenge is smells/feels/looks like fall. I'm in Texas so unfortunately we aren't feeling fall yet, but here is a good look at it. The squirrels have been busy eating away at the pecans in our pecan tree. They are very cute, but they make a huge mess!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for hand sanitizer. To enter just click the link in my sidebar.

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

The L.E.N.S. Photo challenge is hosted by http://www.homeiswhereyoustartfrom.com/ . This week's theme is Red, White, and Blue.

This picture was taken after my daughter's 2nd gymnastics meet this year. She was proud of all the ribbons, but she put the blue on top for the picture!!

L.E.N.S photo challenge

Home is where you start from hosts the L.E.N.S photo challenge each week. This week's theme is numbers. Stop by if you'd like to join in: http://www.homeiswhereyoustartfrom.com/

This is a picture I took of Tim Lincecum when we went to see the Giants play the Diamondbacks on vacation. The only thing I edited on this photo was that I cropped out some people that were standing in front of me. He was warming up in the outfield very close to where we were sitting so I was able to snap a good picture of the back of his jersey that showed his name (and number).

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge

I discovered this little photo challenge hosted by Home is where you start from. (I'm having trouble with links in my blog again so if you can't click on the blog name in the text just go to my margin and click on it there.)

It looked like fun so I thought I'd join in. This week's theme is our animal friends. We met this little guy at the grand canyon last month! He stopped and posed on that rock just long enough for me to get a picture. Then, he ran off.
