This postcard if from the Fort Worth Bereau of Printing and Engraving. It is one of only 2 places in the U.S. where they print paper money. The other is in
Washington D.C. The Fort Worth location is less than an hour from my house. We went there a couple years ago on a tour with our homeschool group. We had a huge turnout! 75 people went! It was a very interesting tour. You got to watch them print and cut the money. Here is the website if you want to learn more: http://www.moneyfactory.gov/ It really was fascinating...I think we'll be going back for another tour!
(This postcard is another one of my son's...as you can tell he likes money! The bahamian money one I posted a few weeks ago was his too!)

Very cool. I've been there too and it was fascinating. And who doesn't like money?!
I'm not sure where our Canadian paper money is printed but I have been to visit our coin mint in Ottawa several times. It's really fascinating - especially now that there's a big kerfuffle going on because at the year-end audit they found out that millions of dollars of gold and silver is missing.
Whoops!!

The postcard is interesting and so is the website. I looked at some of the information about security features on the new money. I was surprised at all the details that I would normally not notice.
Howdy Aimee
Wow happy PFF .
What a great postcard post .
Thank you for sharing all the information.
It sounds like a must visit at least once in my lifetime kind of place :)
Fantastic web site !
Have a fabulous weekend.
Happy trails

This reminds me of the book Double Fudge by Judy Blume! They visit the mint in it:)

My kids LOVE this series of books! Noah reads this one over and over and over again! Johnny can't read yet so I recorded myself reading it for him:) He listened to it every night before going to bed for aggges:)
Thanks for sharing. That money actually is printed is a strange idea. In Holland we used to have bills of guilders that had a very modern and beautiful design (sun flowers, birds, watchtowers). Now that we have euros the design is boring. Greeting from Amsterdam.
This is so cool! Thanks for sharing.

Get some of these for yourself and save them for the day when the kids grow up, move out, and ask you to send money. ;)
Now THAT is cool! Egad, Evelyn! I wonder why that hasn't been reported in the US! I imagine there are many fascinating things happening in your wonderful country we haven't heard.
Tch tch tch--I'm so nosey. Anyhow, Aimee, happy pff!
How very interesting. I'd love to see around a place like that, and to have a postcard too, makes it very special.
Cool information. Print a few extra bills for me.
