Postcard Friendship Friday #33

Welcome to another Postcard Friendship Friday hosted by Marie at Cpaphil Vintage Postcards . Stop by her site to join in or see other postcards.

This is a postcard I picked up at the Sixth Floor Museum a few weeks ago. It's John F. Kennedy and Jackie leaving Love field in Dallas headed to Dealy Plaza November 22, 1963...just a short time before he was assassinated. Seated in front of the Kennedys are Gov. and Mrs. Connally. I'm posting this today because this Sunday marks the 46th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination.

To read about our visit to the Sixth floor museum you can click below. (It was another PFF post.)

I get an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach, seeing this photograph. I was just a little kid when Kennedy died.

We had no Television and the Mobile Butcher told us the bad news. I was only a child but it seems like yesterday.

I was only a child too and don't remember it, but I get a chill seeing them earlier in the day with hope and high spirits.

Beautiful card. Like 9/11 the Kennedy assassination is a tragic and barbaric moment in recent history and many people still know what they did when they heard the sad news.

I read a book called the Kennedy Curse about a month ago. Every member of that family seems to been hit by bad luck like a sack of bricks! Great post Aimee!

We were reminded by a friend just yesterday of the upcoming anniversary. I remember where I was. Do you?

My goodness--I remember when Kennedy was shot. I remember the newscaster taking his glasses off and saying "The president....is dead." I was so little--yet I remember that.

Hmmmm...fascinating postcard. Thank you for sharing this.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy PFF!

That is a really historic card. It must be quite a collector's item. I'm another who can remember the day clearly.
