Wordful Wednesday: dining room makeover

I started a rather ambitious project on Easter weekend. We are getting new dining room furniture so I wanted to paint the dining room before it arrives. Well, I got a little too ambitious at Lowe's and decided to remove the popcorn ceiling and paint the wall paper in the entry way too. BIG mistake! Removing the popcorn wasn't difficult, but texturing the ceiling was, and the wallpaper in the entry way was showing through the paint. After about the 4th day of working tirelessly, I called my husband and said we have to get someone to come finish this! So we did. I'm very happy with the final result. Can't wait until the new table gets here. :)

Here's a "before" picture of the entry way....

Did I mention I HATE wallpaper? Here is the "after" shot...

Before shot of the dining room. (That's just a spare table we had set up to use until the new one gets here.)

And after...

I even talked my husband into new light fixtures. :)
Here is another after shot that shows the dining room better.

Your house is so beautiful! I am a big fan of using people to help! Whenever I start to do something and feel overwhelmed I call in help with a quickness : ) Good for you for starting such an ambitious project! It is going to look great with the table all set up!

I love it! It's beautiful! I am not a fan of wallpaper either. I can't tell you how many projects I have begun and then said, 'HELP!" lol

I hate wallpaper, too - I'm still trying to eliminate it from our house. LOVE the new look! Can't wait to see it with the new dining room table in it, too! You did a great job! :)
