Here are the other 2 Disneyland postcards I got at the anique mall the other day. Like I said last Friday, I think they were all bought by the same guy for his wife in 1972. Unfortunately, neither of these was written on.
The first one is of the enchanted Tiki Room. The back of the card boasts of the "entirely new medium of three-dimensional entertainment called Audio-Animatronics." This is funny to think about now with today's technology!
Basically in the Tiki Room birds and totem poles and stuff "come to life" by talking and singing. They put on a cute little show. Its an original attraction from 1955, I believe. We enjoyed it when we went to Disneyland. There were no live actors in it like this postcard seems to show though....just the animatronic characters.
We just went to Disney World a few months ago and they have "updated" the tiki room. They say it is under new management. It is now being managed by Zazu (the bird from the lion king) and Iago (The bird from Aladdin). In our opinion, the original show was much better! We were not impressed by the "new management"!
The second card is a wonderful picture of Goofy posing in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Ahhh, makes me want to go back to Disneyland right now!

Hehehe! Your blog has REALLY been giving me the itch to go again too! Sooo.. I bought tickets online! My son Noah has been having horrible leg problems with his legs (septic arthritis and has been in and out of the hospital lately. I called Disney and they will have a wheelchair ready for him and he won't have to wait in any lines either! Thank you Disney magic! It's going to make his day... week...year!

Gee, I have been to both Disney Land and World many many times but have never seen the Tiki Room....or did I? I just don't remember it.

I loved the Tiki room. I think it was something that Disney felt strongly about having.

The Tikki Room...memories. My family went while we were little girls. The Tikki Room remains a treasured magical moment in our minds.
I'll have to post about it. My Granny, seamstress in the family, made us girls (all females) matching shifts and the men, Daddy and Papa had a shirt from the same material. No way to get lost.

This is the first time I see a tiki room in the PFF. I have fond memories of the Montreal Kon Tiki and blogged about it a while back. I was lucky to get a postcard of the front door. It was considered quite exotic in Montreal 3- years ago.
